American Independent Business Alliance (AMIBA)
The Portland Independent Business and Community Alliance, which created Portland Buy Local, is affiliated with the American Independent Business Alliance, a national organization that helps people start and sustain local independent business alliances and buy-local campaigns. Portland Buy Local is one of nearly three dozen similar initiatives in other cities around the country.

Business Alliance for Local Living Economies (BALLE)
Building and empowering local business networks to foster sustainable, community-based economies.

Institute for Local Self-Reliance (ILSR)
A national nonprofit organization working to advance sustainable, equitable, and community-centered economic development through research, educational activities, and technical assistance. Programs include Hometown Advantage (strategies and policies for reviving locally owned business) and Big Box Tool Kit.

National Main Street Center
Effective model and many resources to help revitalize downtowns and neighborhood business districts.

Portland's Downtown District
